Chapter 6: Controlling Your Food Choices and Physical Activity

The first five chapters examined your DINE Healthy reports.  You have learned how to identify good food choices and balance your energy.  Now that you have the know-how to improve your eating and physical activity behavior this chapter will help you transfer that knowledge to your environment.

Restaurants, grocery stores, snack bars, parties, your kitchen table, and perhaps your car and your front porch are where you select your food and meals.  Your family, your friends, your co-workers, and your business associates are who you eat your meals with.



During work, leisure, or free time are where you have opportunities to select your physical activities. Your family, your friends, your co-workers, and your associates are who you can participate with in physical activity. 

This chapter will examine the where and who so that what you eat is what you want to eat, and what is healthy for you. This chapter will also review what physical activities might fit into your lifestyle so that the selected activities are those you enjoy, balance your energy, and are beneficial to your health.
