Your Nutrient AnalysisAn accurate method of quickly assessing your diet and physical activity is the foundation of The DINE System. Nutrient analysis, including energy balance, should be a part of every nutritional program... it is the "proof of the pudding."
How can you determine if you are eating foods within recommended nutrient guidelines if you do not record your foods and obtain a nutrient analysis? How can you improve your food choices if you do not know the nutrient composition of the foods you eat? How can you know if you are eating too much or too little or if your energy is balanced? How can you improve your physical activity and/or exercise routines if you do not track and manage your physical activity?
The technology of diet and physical activity analysis, once reserved for clinical situations, can now help you improve your eating and physical activity behavior. The analysis reflects your behaviors and compares them with widely accepted guidelines. The analysis indicates which nutrients you need more or less of. But more importantly, the analysis helps you identify which foods need to be added to your diet and which foods need to be decreased or eliminated. The analysis also indicates if you are achieving an adequate physical activity level to balance your energy input.
